Cross Fit training is the special work-out professional athletes do in order to achieve extra balance, flexibility, strength and endurance for a specific sport.

Each sport requires different training exercises to help build up muscles that are needed for the sport. Not all athletes of the same sport do the same work out, but the basics/fundamentals of the training exercises are similar. Crossfit training is an extra personal work out, either after or before a sporting event; it is long-term effective conditioning exercise, the results don't build up in a night.

Why do we say crossfit training is the work-out for professionals? Simply because normal people lacks the will power or the motivation to work regularly for a long period of time.

Although Kobe Bryant, Lionel Messi, and Micheal Phelps are involved in different sports, they all go to the gym and follow a personal work out supervised by specialists or personal trainer. You can think of it this way, what muscles and skills does swimming requires? Those muscles don't just exist in Phelps by swimming, but he trains the muscle with special instruements, enlarging them and strengthening them. The gym can be considered a viagra for muscles.
